Two magic words....Nope it's not "thank you" for me!

"Be strong!" - How many times have we heard this post teenage? I think I've heard it a million times or maybe more or maybe less( but it seems like a million for sure!). But irrespective of the number of times, when I hear those two words, for that moment I do feel revived. Some positive streak does captivate me with hope, with a belief...(soaring soaring high...I believe I can flyyyy...I believe I can touch the sky...I believe I'm super woman...OH! Damn! That's where I fall!)

Anyway, those two words manifest into such different interpretations with age.

As a kid, if somebody would've told me that "Be strong!", I would've rushed to the kitchen, to drink a glass of Bournvita! (Tan ki shakti Man ki Shakti Bournvitaaa!). Hello? I was a kid then, naivety of a kid should be excused! (If you can't, you're not human!! Yes! I'm being defensive...in my own blog..heck why!?..)

Teenage can be such a confusing phase. I remember one of my close school friends, Nitya telling me once, "We'll look back at all this one day and LAUGH! BE STRONG now!". She was trying to tell me to BE STRONG through some major crisis (now it seems so trivial that it's deteriorated to the level of embarrassment!). Be strong was like a two liner anthem for me. Any issues? --> Be strong (dude/dudette), well the addition just made it sound way more cool then..and you just have to be cool when you're a teen man!)

Post teenage, working, reality strikes..HARD! You have to be strong, or you just can't be! So many different experiences, most of them seem so unfair, but you move along with the flow..why? You've got to be strong! Something better will come up. And guess what? Something better does happen! Later sometimes, but it does! "Be strong!" This is the phase when I actually started understanding it...

Well, I think I understood it a bit way too much..being strong! My physical attributes also bear testimony to "BEING STRONG!" hehe :-)

  3. Insightful. All of us go through several situations in life. Many situations are extremely important in a particular context at a particular age - but they appear trivial later on. However, 'being strong' is something we have to do all our lives - be it for ourselves, or be it for others.Sometimes we have to be strong for others even when we're actually feeling weak! Pessimists may disagree, but this phrase has to be one thing optimists absolutely love!
