KON BOLO ?

Ever had to go through this experience where you're tired and just relaxing and letting your imagination transport you into some secret (very public also sometimes! :S) desired dream/place? Then suddenly you hear the wind chimes...nope! its the phone ringing! Sigh! Back to reality, eh? Yup, you bet!

You get up as if you have this huge piece of cemented gravel weighing 20 kgs stuck to your bum and just are trying your best to stand...once done..mission accomplished?..nope...u drudge along to recieve your phone/your mobile..(incase ur mobile is right next to you..well u dont do the whole theatrics that I described so figuratively!..but u get the picture!! :-) )
You finally manage to say a faint "Hello" and the person at the other end responds asking "KON BOLO!!???"
SERIOUSLY??

I still don't get the whole logic of it! When you dial a number you NORMALLY have an idea what you're calling about/whom you are calling to(person or company) (unless you're some whacko really who dials random numbers and just calls...that makes u filthy rich..or we have a medical term for that..ahem ahem!)
Why then ask KON BOLO? Is it a disease that you can't get rid of since you've heard many ppl using it around you? Or is it a genuine question..(then that shows the level of stupidity...!!) ? Or is it just something that rhymes..hel"LO"..kon bo"LO" ??

Besides it being annoying, I've noticed the trend in my replies to that question...

Earlier --> Mera naam *****, aapko kisse kaam hai? (the sweet, decent, respectful replies!)

Thereafter --> Aapko kiska kaam hai? (Straight forward, no nonsense!)

After Thereafter --> Teri ** !!! (there is seriously a level of frustration which has surpassed now!)

This last one still does continue unless the KON BOLO person catches me in a good time!(which is rare nowadays really!)

Nevertheless, this is something that has caught my annoyance really! And my outburst had to be soothed in this way..(besides being jobless at home! )
