I happened to come across this video - The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Its amazing how 10 mins of listening to someone speak can change your life's perspective. There are quite a few who do make you feel rejuvenated but this one was bull's eye!
Randy Pausch, who is no more now, delivered a talk that was worthwhile and something worth keeping in mind whenever I feel let down. A person who is aware that he is going to die in a couple of months can have so much optimism seeded in him makes me wonder, how trivial matters tend to consume us so much in our precious little and finite that we have of our own lives, do we really enjoying life? Is it just at the periphery that we seem to glee sometimes?
He talked about childhood dreams, humility, gratitude, materialism to mention a few. We all had childhood dreams some of which we laugh at now. I wonder why do we really laugh, some may be obviously funny. Think about it again! Don't we just laugh at it to discreetly hide the unaccomplishment of the same and let it pass by as a minor thing? He mentioned that one should always work towards one's dreams. We may never accomplish them, but the experience that you get during the process is what matters.
He said that "Karma will take care of everything"..haven't we all seen it somewhere in our lives? We were on the unfair end many times, just to get something better later.Optimism is a kick! A kick that takes us a long way in life. Cliche as it may sound, but optimism does work. To put it better, Ive got a way of dealing with things...
if somebody hurts me - be positive coz karma will take care of everything
work hard to achieve something..dont get it...(karma...work hard further)
dog bites me..karma...(ill bite the dog later...oh god no!!.)
well..nevertheless..its gonna be like my new bumper sticker now...lets see how it helps..

Its about 10 mins long. Its worth it! I may have been unable to put it properly in words..but the video will convey it all!

1. It is good to be optimistic but it is equally important to be realistic.
2. karma will take of everything... well i m not sure whether this is true in today's world or not... i feel saying tht "karma will take care of everything" is a kind of "let go..." statement... u know u can't do anything about some of the things and u just have to let them go and let the fate decide how should they end up.
